Birling day is a yearly recurring event for the staff of MJN Air where the crew takes millionaire Mr Birling to see the Six Nations rugby match, wherever it may be. Mr Birling is known to be a generous tipper, encouraging the crew to indulge in a spot of toadying.
He is normally drunk during the flight due to requesting the crew serving him with a bottle of expensive Talisker whisky. Douglas usually tries and manages to steal the whisky.
